"Venture Studios Demystified" is a research-based nonfiction book examining venture studios' strategies and contributing factors and analysing the industry's performance. The clients wanted to see a design that is playful and eye-catching while still holding a level of weight to signify the informative nature of the contents.
My job was to design both the book's cover and interior - for ebook and paperback - from their design brief and annotated manuscript. Based on the initial brainstorming from the clients, the cover combines the idea of 'studio' and 'startup', respectively symbolised as a factory and a unicorn. The colour scheme developed here was brought into the interior design and used in a variety of design elements such as page breaks, icons and simple infographics devised to help readers get excited and ease into the topic.
